Title: From Waste to Resource
Application of high performance eco-friendly building materials in civil engineering
The potential use of eco -friendly construction materials based on different types of by -products and recycled fiber reinforcement (bio-fibers, recycled carpet fibers, recycled composite ) in civil engineering will be presented.
The use of alternative cementitious materials (ACM) such as geopolymer binders and the new generation of high performance gypsum based materials in civil engineering will be discussed.
Results of the demonstration projects:
a) Geopolymer slab-on-grade - Alternative Village AshCrete™- Ready Mix Geopolymer Concrete
b) Sub-grade and sub-base stabilization by eco-friendly stabilizers and recycle fiber reinforcement)
c) Eco- friendly underlayment and topping flooring materials will be present.
